New York City

I just got back from 6 days in the Big Apple. I had such a great time. I went out to the Fancy Food Show with Angie, Holly and Ashley.
Oh course, my favorite part of going to New York is the food.
We ate at a great place in Union Square called the Union Square Cafe. Holly ordered a green pea salad with mint. It was one of the best things I have ever tried.
I love spending time in the Union Square area. It is one of the most peaceful places I have found in the city. And of course there is great shopping and food to be found all around Union Sqaure. Angie and Holly found this great cafe called Tisserie. They brought the most beautiful pastries back to the hotel and let me try a few of them. They were almost too beautiful to eat.
Our first night in the city we ate dinner in Little Itay and finished the evening with gelato and then Rice Pudding at Rice to Riches in Soho.

We also ate at one of our favorite places Ruby Foos in Times Square. Angie could not pass up trying a fish egg from Holly's sushi assortment. Yummo.

The highlight of this visit into the city was going to Mary Poppins. I loved it!! It might be the best show I have ever seen. It was even better because of all of the little kids in the audience. They were so fun to watch. When Mary Poppins came flying back at the begining of the second act they all gasped and started cheering. I have to confess my eyes filled with a few little tears as Mary Poppins flew over the audience at the end. I am such a dork.

On one of our final nights in the city we walked around Wall Street, ate dinner at the South Street Seaport, where we had the greatest view of the Brooklyn Bridge, and then rode on the Staten Island Ferry. It was so beautiful.
